JEKYLL ISLAND

Typically, if you suggest to me that we spend a day at the beach then you can’t get mad if I cause you physical harm. I’m a beach hater, baby LOUD AND PROUD.

But here’s a beach I fuck with hard.

This strange strip of beach along Georgia’s Jekyll Island, appropriately named Driftwood Beach, features both massive logs and some full sized trees spouting straight up from the sand that have been fully transformed into driftwood thanks to years of erosion.

Driftwood Beach itself is fairly unmarked, so unless you’re into trekking up the island from the regular beach access points, pop Driftwood Beach into your GPS and drive off into the woods. Your best indicator that you’re at the trailhead is there will be other cars parked there, and you can just trust these randoms and freely disappear into the trees. If you got it right, just a short walk later you’ll end up among the logs. And the logs? They speak for themselves.

I love any chance I get to admire the beauty in something dead and wear jeans to a beach <3
