SEDONA + JEROME

I feel bad for Arizona, it gets a lot of bad press. Melting garbage cans on the street in the summer, old people, Republicans, tarantulas, etc. Quite frankly, Arizona doesn’t deserve any of this. And I’ve taken it on as my responsibility to advocate for the state and all of its glory.

This is a really long winded way of me telling you I’m about to photo/thought dump my way through Sedona & Jerome.

So we’re kicking this off with some photos of Schnebly Hill road, an unfortunately named but gorgeous part of town that is only accessible by Jeep.

When it comes to hiking straight into a vortex, I have a special place in my heart for Bell Rock. This is my favorite variety of hike, the one where I can climb all over a rock surface and not be confined to a path or told what to do.

Here you can also find plenty of quiet corners of rock to sit quietly and ground yourself, and reflect on the psychic reading I hope you had earlier. Fully immerse yourself in your own mind palace. Then, notice how fat your little fingers got in the heat, question how old you actually are, and try not to scream at the sky. What? No, I'm fine.

About a half an hour outside of Sedona, you’ll find the old mining town in the mountains, Jerome. Dare I say, it’s a real gem of a place ha ha ha oh my GOD that was so dumb they didn’t even mine gems there u idiot.

Sooo anyway, Jerome has an extensive copper mining history and the town isn't gonna let that history die. More of that energy please.

Realizing long after I started putting this together that most of my photos in Jerome are from an era I had a busted phone and didn’t bring my camera with me, so cutting this short until the next time I haul myself up into the mountains to pretend I’m a saloon girl.
